Charité Research Organisation collaborates with the Charité Departments for Ophthalmology in order to support studies in a range of eye disorders. These include studies in scleritis, uveitis, macular degeneration and glaucoma amongst others.
KOLs within the Charité support projects on a scientific and methodological level. The clinics have access to state of the art diagnostic equipment and technologies, including Optical Coherence Tomography (SD-OCT) and Multifocal Electroretinography (mERG). These techniques are not only offered in respect of ophthalmological studies; techniques such as SD-OCT may also be used as safety assessments in the development of compounds for other conditions.
